"How much longer?"....this is the question I only wish we had an answer to.
Our dreams of an early July homecoming have been pushed aside as we face the reality that we still don't have passports for the boys. We are currently in week 13 of waiting for their Haitian passports that we must have in order to get our final visa clearance. Back in May, there was some type of corruption in the passport office in Haiti, which resulted in extreme delays for those of us who had applied for passports before that time.
Last week, I received an email from USCIS (Immigration) saying that we were missing some documents in our file and they must have the information to proceed with our case. This is the type of thing that can cause extreme delays at the end of the process and I kind of freaked out. Actually... I really freaked out. I contacted our agency, who contacted our creche, and we have been told that everything has been taken care of...However, I have NOT received confirmation from USCIS which still makes me a little nervous.
All of this is to say that we have no idea how much longer.
So...until we get clearance to travel, the boys' bags are packed...their room is ready...and their family is waiting.
What a privilege to meet you & your mom today!! I will be praying for you & your family!! GOD bless you!!
