Successful Fundraiser

The last month has been a roller coaster for our family. Satan has made if clear that he is out to destroy what God has set in motion, but as always in the lives of His children, God is faithful. A few weeks ago we received more information on our adoption process than we thought we would have this early, but the last few weeks have slowed down and I have to remind myself that this is a marathon not a 5K (unfortunately). We are SO close to finishing our paper work and having everything authenticated and translated to submit to our orphanage. So maybe...I will be able to make a post that paperwork is complete within a few weeks!

This past weekend we were reminded that we are not in this process alone. When God calls His children to do something He provides to make it happen! Our family hosted a 5K as a fundraiser for our adoption. It was my hope that after our expenses for the event that we would make around $1000-$1500. Well...God had bigger plans (as usual) for this event. Because of the help of a VERY special family that God sent our way and the help of many friends in GA and NC, we were able to make around $5000 on the 5K!!! This is huge considering that our adoption cost have increased from around $34,000 to around $50,000 (the increase is the orphanage fee for the second child). These number can seem overwhelming UNTIL I remember who is in control. God has allowed our family to go from have $0 in December when we decided He was calling us to adopt, to around $24,000 today. WOW!!!! He is in control and powerful and we are not going to get in His way! When I allow Satan to get in my mind I freak out about how we are going to come up with the rest of the money, but then I am given a peace and reminded that if we are obedient, He will provide. We are incredibly thankful for the support of some many friends and family. We have a long way to go and we covet your prayers. I hope to be able to update on our progress soon!
